Monday again. Fortune cookie time.
"Hearty laughter is a good way to jog internally without having to go outside."
Ok, so I know you may be thinking, "He's making these up." Nope. I have each of these fortunes I have written about, even a couple of others I have kept for some time, taped to a piece of paper in my computer bag. They are after all just another type of anchor. What is important is what they mean to me. Oh, and how I share them with you!
I love to laugh. I will watch a funny show or movie again and again. I'll laugh every time too. Is laughing healthful? I think we can agree that it can help relieve stress but a jog? Really? An article on WebMD says maybe yes.
One pioneer in laughter research, William Fry, claimed it took ten minutes on a rowing machine for his heart rate to reach the level it would after just one minute of hearty laughter.

"You are a bundle of energy, always on the go."
Weight-loss translation:
Well the activity connection was obvious. We do want to move more, but the truth is when we first start out we don't have the energy and we are not on the go. That's when "Act as if", positive self talk, can help. Tell yourself often enough that you are "a bundle of energy" and you are. Where can you go? Anywhere you like--the gym, the park, biking.
Usually on Monday I have Chinese food for dinner. Yesterday the snow got in the way. So on the way home from the meeting today I picked up the usually. Steamed chicken and Broccoli. Don't wrinkle your nose. It's good. Very good. China Wok in Lawrenceburg rocks! I eat it with chopsticks and brown sauce on the side for dipping. Today's fortune cookie fortune:
"A truly creative person rids him or herself of all self imposed limitations."
Weight loss translation: Self imposed rules work until they don't, constantly reassess and keep moving.
